A transplanted New Yorker, Deb began her career as a junior high school science teacher. After teaching (and another degree), Deb was ordained and served for 36 years as a priest in the Episcopal Church, retiring from active ministry and moving to Pasadena in 2019. For 9 of those years, Deb lived adjacent to an Audubon bird sanctuary in Dutchess County, NY, and a birder was hatched. Belonging to PAS, participating in citizen science and working to preserve and protect the beauty of creation: it’s the perfect combination of her life’s passions.
